Lancaster Royal Grammar School

Established in the 13th century, Lancaster Royal Grammar is successful, historic yet modern; one of the UK’s top grammar schools. It is proud of the warmth of relationships between pupils and staff and the quality of pastoral care. It builds the confidence of its pupils by nurturing skills and interests, while upholding academic and extracurricular excellence within a diverse and tolerant community. The school was rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in October 2019 following a rigorous and zero-notice inspection. With boarding fees about a third of those payable at independent schools, the school is an outstanding alternative, for exceptional value.
