Dragon School

The Dragon’s reputation as a School where every child can find, explore and develop their talents has been well earned over many generations. Our sense of philanthropy, kindness and service, shared by Dragons young and old, also reflects the School’s founding values and core ethos.

Description

Geographic Location

One School on two sites, the Dragon School is positioned on the edge of the university city of Oxford. Sitting amid open playing fields and along the banks of the River Cherwell, original buildings have been reworked and modernised, while retaining their traditional features.

School Facilities

A dedicated Science Block, sports fields, 25m heated swimming pool, Olympic-sized hockey astro, climbing wall, rink, music department, hall and health centre are among the school’s stimulating and modern facilities.

Academic Results

Across the curriculum, many pupils achieve scholarships and awards to a range of senior schools. Former pupils include actors Hugh Laurie, Tom Hiddlestone and Emma Watson, philosopher Alain de Botton and diplomat Rory Stewart.

Extra-curricular Activities 

The school offers a wide range of activities in sport, music, art, drama and dance, plus gardening, textiles and language clubs. bespoke enrichment curriculum. A new bespoke enrichment club called Dragon QUEST, starting in September 2020, will replace Saturday class to provide children with the opportunity to discover talents, develop new skills and dare to embrace new challenges from creative writing and yoga, to film-making and animation, first aid and debating through to astronomy, orienteering and the psychology of sport.
